Milestone on Sunday, 28.02.

The days are getting longer, the nights shorter — on Sundays you’re supposed to rest — but not when you’re heading to the Orient in just 8 remaining Sundays. Drinking tea and waiting was yesterday… Today (Sunday, 28.02.) we got through a whole list of tasks in our garage.

One highlight right off the bat — we were able to pick up our VW Passat from Sportgarage Reto Spuler in Brunegg. A big thank you goes out for the donation of a new timing belt and clutch, which were generously donated and fitted on the spot by the garage.

The whole team was there — the day’s schedule was, as usual thanks to our team captain, clear and well-structured. Full of enthusiasm, fun and the ever-growing excitement, every team member was in their element. The first advertising stickers were applied, a kind donation in goods received, the trailer hitch mounted on the trailer, and so on and so on…

For lunch, we cooked up a porcini risotto on our homemade campfire stove in a scout pot — which the team and our guests devoured with great enthusiasm.

In the afternoon we put on our judo gis to take a current team photo for the press. We didn’t want to keep that from you.

Today’s to-do list got quite a bit shorter… Somewhat tired but fully satisfied with the milestones reached, the team headed home. Only 61 days to go…
