Our Cars Are Ready to Go...

…and what about the 6 participating camel riders? In twelve days the adventure begins — and you know what, we can hardly wait.

This week our cars got to enjoy a final check (a thorough going-over :-P) at Reto Spuler’s sports garage in Birr near Brunegg. A big thank you goes to his expert support, offered without charging a single cent. He follows our rally project with great enthusiasm. Reto checked the brakes, topped up fluids, tested everything possible, and finally even supplied us with various small items (spare oil, windscreen wipers, etc.). In today’s hectic world, receiving such unexpectedly generous support is absolutely not to be taken for granted — dear Reto, the entire Team #85 thanks you from the bottom of our hearts.

The aid supplies are packed and are being loaded into the trailers one by one. For each vehicle/trailer there is a packing list and a pro-forma invoice (value) for the aid supplies being carried. In addition, we had to produce a disinfection certificate and a hygiene certificate — and notably in 9 languages (German, English, Slovenian, Croatian, Bosnian, Montenegrin, Albanian, Macedonian and Bulgarian).

We defined the route as a team and prepared the roadbook for each vehicle. Final details are in the process of being wrapped up, anticipation is rising and excitement is growing. Have we thought of everything?
