We Are Ready for 2020

Dear Judo goes Orient – Fans

It is a great pleasure for us to inform you that Judo goes Orient will once again be taking part in the humanitarian charity rally to the Orient in 2020.

Our team has changed slightly with some new rally participants. Veteran rally participants Andreas Schmid and Roger Hofer are joined by new members Lukas Küchler, Joél Berger, Philipp Schmid and Yanik Wechsler. Andreas Schmid will be the new Team Captain, leading Team #85 into the Orient.

The Judo goes Orient project is up and running at full speed. We quickly managed to buy 3 rally cars at bargain prices from the scrapyard. In 2020 we’ll be driving 3 BMW 530d Tourings — all around 20 years young and already well broken in with the first 300’000 km.

The finish line of the 2020 rally is expected to be in Dubai or Abu Dhabi. The planned route for the 2020 rally leads from Germany through the Balkans, Istanbul, Ankara, Anatolia, Van, Tehran, to the Persian Gulf. From there a ferry will take us to the United Arab Emirates, where our team will face various desert special stages.

Once again we will be supporting humanitarian charitable projects such as children’s homes, orphanages, schools and kindergartens on our long journey, and we are already in contact with aid organisations. As soon as we have evaluated the specific aid projects, we will keep you updated in a further blog post.

We are already collecting financial donations for our aid projects and our team. Under “Help out” you will find all the important information. We are again collecting aid supplies for children, such as cuddly toys (very important: washed or hygienically cleaned), toys and school materials such as school backpacks, pencil cases, writing and drawing supplies, coloured pencils and felt-tip pens, etc.

We are also planning a number of events, including a rally “Warm-up Party” (Save the date 14.09.2019), various information stands, an interview on Radio Argovia, newspaper articles, fundraising campaigns, etc. You can follow our project progress here.
