SCHEGA – A Big THANK YOU
Three long days come to a close on Sunday evening at the SCHEGA in Schinznach. The weather played along — sometimes it was sunny, sometimes it rained in between. But the conversations with the many SCHEGA visitors were always great. A big thank you to everyone who chatted with us, got excited about our project and generously supported our aid work.
The SCHEGA is the trade fair of the Schenkenbergertal valley. We thank the organising committee for the fantastic opportunity to run a stand, and also Wagner-Schriften for the sponsored banner-banners and roll-ups that made our stand a real eye-catcher.
We actively approached visitors, explained why “Judo goes Orient” doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with martial arts, and managed to enthuse many people about our project. Admittedly, the Swiss Army ship right next to us provided pretty stiff competition with our beautiful rally car “Gloria” for the visitors’ attention.
At the exhibition we made many contacts with people from all walks of life. Whether private individuals, business people, exhibitors or students — most shared our enthusiasm and interesting conversations arose. We were able to collect considerable monetary donations for our aid projects at the exhibition. We were especially pleased that some people visited us a second time and handed over bags full of in-kind donations right there at the SCHEGA. Many people want to get in touch with us after the SCHEGA to bring us in-kind donations or support of other kinds. — THANK YOU to everyone!
We are delighted to have reached so many people and hope that many will continue to follow our preparations and our rally.
After tidying up, we had to manoeuvre our exhibited rally car “Gloria” out of the gravel bed by sheer muscle power. The battery had taken rather too much of a beating — we still have a lot of work to do!
