The Prism Party Turned the Andalusia Bar in Mellingen into a «Funky Town»

On Saturday, 14 September 2019 the time had come. After lengthy preparations and several discussions between DJ Prism, Andalusia Bar and Judo goes Orient, an extremely successful charity Prism Party was celebrated at the Andalusia Bar in Mellingen.

Judo goes Orient will once again be driving a humanitarian charity rally in May 2020, collecting donations of goods and money for orphanages and children’s homes in Romania and Bulgaria. More at: judogoesorient.ch

We approached Roland «Roli» Isler, alias DJ Prism, to host a charity Prism Party in support of our fundraising campaign. Roli Isler didn’t need to think twice and immediately said yes, calling it a «cool thing and a great project». The only remaining question was finding a suitable venue. That was settled at the Andalusia Bar in Mellingen. Daniel Schmid from Andalusia also agreed on the spot, saying: «awesome idea, bringing the Prism Party to Mellingen».

Even the advance ticket sales at Zero Zero in Baden and at the Andalusia Bar in Mellingen showed how well known the Prism Party is throughout the canton of Aargau and beyond. It brings back memories of the party nights at Autohaus Küng in Gebensdorf, Thermalbad Baden, and the Badenfahrt 2017. The Prism Party as a «wandering disco» is famous for its legendary disco rhythms of the 70s & 80s. Now the Andalusia Bar in Mellingen can add itself to the party circuit.

Did you groove across the dance floor to the disco rhythms of «Staying Alive» back in the 70s? Or do you remember the 80s dance film «Dirty Dancing» and its iconic soundtrack? And can you do the jive as well as wild head-banging to the stomping hard rock of Bon Jovi? DJ Prism laid down many of these songs on vinyl at this celebration.

Roli Isler, with 70s & 80s on the main floor, and Classic & Deep House DJ N.D. on the 2nd floor, shared the work at the mixing desk on the two dance floors. The joy was plain to see in both DJs as they got the partygoers dancing under a colourful light show. «Everyone feels at home with us», says Roli Isler, «whether you’re 25+, 35+ or 50+.» The lovely weather and warm night also helped the outdoor terrace contribute to the great atmosphere among the guests.

«It was a brilliant thing, seeing all the familiar faces and hearing the favourite songs from the old days», said Melanie from Baden.

Without the roughly 30 volunteers at the ticket desk, cloakroom and bars, a party like this would of course be impossible. A big «thank-you to all the helpers» is well deserved. The entire Prism Party was well organised, so the night passed without any incidents.
