Hand Over Your Spoon - The Spoon Project
We were quite amazed when the Europa-Orient-Rallye leadership gave us the task of collecting as many hand-signed spoons as possible from our community for the rally. If we manage, together with the other rally teams, to bring 10,000 spoons to Tel Aviv, our rally cars will be loaded with a large quantity of rice in Israel, which we will then bring to refugee camps in Jordan. This rice will be enough for 30,000 meals.
The campaign is a continuation of the spoon art project “Only Full Spoons Make You Full” with Uri Geller, probably the world’s most famous spoon artist, who is currently living in Tel Aviv again. The project already started with the Europa-Orient-Rallye 2019 and continues now with the 2020 rally. Our donated spoons will be integrated into the artwork “World’s Largest Spoon”, which will be placed in front of Uri Geller’s new museum (more information about the project from Uri Geller).

Uri Geller will then donate this enormous quantity of rice for 30,000 meals, which we can transport onwards from Israel to refugee camps in Jordan.
What a wonderful thing. That’s why we’re naturally getting busy collecting spoons. Help us collect. Here’s how it works:
- Take a soup spoon you no longer need (metal, not plastic)
- If you don’t have one: the second-hand shop will surely have plenty of spoons ;)
- Sign the spoon with a permanent marker or have it engraved
- Hand the spoon over to us
Support us with spoons for Uri Geller’s spoon artwork and in doing so help refugees in Jordan. You can hand the spoons over to us in various ways: either in person, via the letterbox of our team captain Andreas Schmid at Friedhofstrasse 8 in Wohlen, by post to the above address, or right when you drop off material donations for our aid projects.
We’ve already prepared the spoon box in our Oase, but so far there are only a few in it. So hand over your spoon!
