Where poverty prevails, people spend their money on food first. If anything is left over, they buy clothing or medicine. When families have little or no money, this frequently causes stress. There is no money left for school supplies for the children, meaning not every family can afford school materials for their kids. The children grow up illiterate and have little hope that their lives will ever change.
Children starting school usually look forward eagerly to their very first school bag. The initial kit — school bag, pencil case, pouch, writing and colouring pencils, exercise books and more — can quickly become very expensive. Too expensive for families! And it is precisely these children we most want to help, and we ask for your support.
On our way to the Orient we visit schools, children’s homes and orphanages and bring used or new school bags, pencil cases, writing and colouring pencils, and exercise books directly to those in need.
