How we cook on the road during the rally…

We are often asked how we manage to cook for at least 6 people while on the rally. And what we actually eat. Well then, let us lift the veil on the culinary secrets of Judo goes Orient | Team #85.

Our food should give us energy so we can cope with the long driving days of up to 12 hours. But we don’t always manage that perfectly, and we’re honest enough to admit it. Consciously chosen, high-quality food only provides its nutrients optimally when it actually reaches the cells involved in metabolism. Sometimes a little beer is needed to help that along :-).

In our team everyone is a food lover who wants to eat well, plenty, and with pleasure. We cook and grill whenever possible once a day, so we get something warm. So it’s not quite a 5* restaurant, but not far off :-).

We built two fire bowls from old washing machine drums. One is used for grilling and the other for cooking. The advantage of our fire bowls is that we can make a fire on asphalt or in a meadow. And of course, cooking is done in the scout pot…

On the rally menu are, for example: various pastas, risotto funghi porcini, Älplermagronen, cheese fondue, polenta, soups and of course lots and lots of meat from the grill. A large part of the vegetables we grow in our own team garden. Oh yes, there will even be raclette, as befits a Swiss team. We haven’t listed everything, but it’s always enough to fill us up…

Follow us “live” during the rally on Facebook, Instagram or the homepage — we’ll definitely be uploading videos of our food too.

So, now we wish you “bon appétit”.
