Laundry Day
Day 20**:** Shengjin (AL) by the sea
Waking up on the sandy beach of Shengjin at Duna Camping is a real pleasure. This was probably the warmest night of our trip so far, and instead of barking dogs or a frog concert you can hear the sound of the waves. It was a calm night.
Breakfast is, once again, cornflakes, bread and our plum jam. And as everyone sits down at the table in their underwear, it quickly becomes clear: today is laundry day. We haven’t had fresh clothes for a while and we’re starting to smell like a dead polecat :). In no time a washing line is strung from tree to tree and the washing can begin.
To get some movement in, we play volleyball and frisbee in the water, swim back and forth, or even run up and down sand dunes. All that sitting in the car has left us all a bit out of shape, and the physical activity does us good.
For dinner we’ve come up with a delicious risotto. Anticipation is high and everyone pitches in. We picked up fresh onions, grated cheese and wine during the day, so nothing stands in the way of a tasty risotto. Unfortunately the Albanian cheese undid all our hard work. And the out-of-date wine finishes us off. Oh well — at least we’ve still got a Kägi-Frägi to hand.
Tomorrow we continue homeward. We close out today with a rough route plan. We expect to reach our Oasis in Wohlen on Sunday evening, 30 May. Tomorrow we head on to Montenegro.
Summary:
We have fresh clothes and are ready for the journey home. The next stages are clear, and you can already follow us today via our GPS tracker into Montenegro.
