Our film is here...!!! A unique experience – film premiere…
In early May, JUDO GOES ORIENT is coming to cinemas. NO, we’re not quite that famous yet. To kick off our humanitarian charity rally, the whole rally team set out to make a charitable difference.
The myth of the red carpet: Have you always wondered what really goes on behind the scenes of a film premiere, and how special the atmosphere on premiere night truly is? We don’t know either, so we can’t let you in on any secrets…
Why a film premiere is a special event
Philipp Schmid’s living room, where the premiere of JUDO GOES ORIENT takes place, does not announce the evening’s programme with a large film poster on the facade. So it’s quite easy to miss what’s going on at Philipp’s that evening. Outside, there are no fans or autograph hunters, and the red carpet is not rolled out in the foyer.
The red does not shine directly into the face of everyone who walks into the living room under the spotlight. Finally, premiere fever…!
The cinema atmosphere is missing, but the entire rally team with their partners that evening are hungry and full of anticipation for the JUDO GOES ORIENT film premiere in Philipp Schmid’s living room.
No flash of cameras on the red carpet
While some guests clink glasses of prosecco to toast the evening, the sweet smell of popcorn would be the perfect finishing touch to the atmosphere – but we have no popcorn.
It is a mix of traditional cinema atmosphere, glitz and glamour, and the beaming, happy faces of the Judo goes Orient family.
The closer the film’s start time gets, the more Philipp Schmid’s living room fills with premiere guests, but above all with excitement, curiosity and anticipation. As the rally drivers enter the living room, the mood does not reach an initial high point.
No loud gong reminds guests to slowly make their way into the living room. But as the lights slowly go out and the rally team has taken their seats, the room grows quieter. The tension and excitement are palpable. Roll film!
Thunderous applause at the end
The credits roll, as with every good film, far too soon – or so it feels. When the names of all those involved begin to scroll across the screen, you almost feel a little sad. You’d love to rewind a little and start from the beginning again. But one of the most wonderful things about a premiere evening is experiencing the audience’s reactions directly, unlike at a typical cinema screening. Everyone applauds enthusiastically – a beautiful reward for all the work that goes into getting the film JUDO GOES ORIENT onto the screen.
Premiere fever is in the air, and YOU too can catch it – enjoy!
Roll film!
You can also find the film on our homepage www.judogoesorient.ch as well as on Facebook and Instagram.
At this point we would like to express our heartfelt thanks to all sponsors and supporters – who made our humanitarian charity rally possible in the first place.
